Module configuration > Define module areas for configuration
Module areas can be defined for configuration.
There 2 main reasons for using this method:
You can combine groups of modules on different surfaces (e.g. 2 dormers). Configurations may be formed in which the strings run over more than one surface.
You can define several module areas, and assign them to specific MPP trackers or partial systems.
-> I. Requirements:
Definition of the terrain with all shading objects
Definition of module coverage
-> II. How to define module areas:
Via the main menu, select the workspace Module configuration.
Select modules which have not yet been configured
by dragging a frame over the modules with the mouse or select the modules individually.
In the context menu (right click), select Add to 'Define Module Areas' Dialog.
Modules can only be added to a module area once.
If you select a group of modules which intersects an existing module area, only those modules not yet grouped are added to the list.
This is useful for irregular layouts and can, for example, be used for simple grouping of differently shaded modules.
- PV modules can only belon&g to a module area if they:
Modules must be of the same type.
! have the same orientation (azimuth and inclination).
are either elevated or built parallel to the roof Modules for elevated and roof- parallel systems cannot belong to the same module area.
have the same installation conditions (ventilation).
The module installation is arbitrary This means that upright and horizontal modules can belong to the same Module area.
Modules of a module area, which are defined for configuration, are highlighted in the color cyan.
-> III. Define module areas
The dialog "Define module areas" lists the module areas, the respective number of modules, their total output, orientation and inclination.
In addition to the number of modules, the triangle indicates the module names and the installation type.
The following functions exist:
add all remaining modules of all coverable objects to the list
Combine selected
module areas, only possible with same orientation (tolerance 2°) and module type
Separate existing combined module areas
in the selection into original module areas
Clear the list
Select all / deselect all
-> How to combine module areas:
Go to the dialog "Define module areas"
Select the module areas which are to be combined. Tolerance for combining: 2°
Click on the button Combine.
-> How to configure module areas:
Go to the dialog "Define module areas"
Select the module area which is to be configured.
All other module areas listed are shown in grey type, they are not used for the configuration.
Click on the button Configure.
Click on the button Configure . The dialog Inverter is opened.
- The configuration is carried out only for the current selected module areas
- In the dialog Inverter, you can check the PV system to check outputs, currents, MPP voltages and upper voltage thresholds. A system check is also carried out when taking over the 3D project into PV*SOL.
Close the dialog.
